South African Artist "Tyla" Wins the 2024 Grammy

Tyla has won a Grammy Award, beating out several top Nigerian music stars. The Nigerian artists they defeated include Asake, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Davido.

Asake, Burna Boy, and Davido in particular are among the most popular Afropop/Afrobeats artists globally.

 On February 5, 2024 Tyla made history by beat Nigerian superstars Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, and Ayra Starr to the Best African Music performance for her hit single 'Water'.

But it's clear that Tyla pulled off a major feat by beating several hugely successful Nigerian artists to take home a Grammy.

For Tyla to win a Grammy over these big names is a major accomplishment for them.
